Grandpa’s 80!

May 26, 2008

On May 5th Cody’s grandpa turned 80 years old. So we made the pilgrimage to the middle of nowhere to celebrate with the family. We grilled lots of meat, made homemade ice cream and where entertained by a comedian. Not a bad party for an old guy!

The Birthday boy himself. And I have to say he’s look’n pretty good for 80!

I think this such an odd photo, but I really like it.

This one cracks me up! He’s going to make sure he blows those candles out!

And what spring time trip to the ranch would be complete without a brand new baby lamb, just moments old. AHHHH, almost makes you want to live in the middle of nowhere!

Times of Change

May 26, 2008

Graphic Design.  Either you got it or ya don’t.  I don’t.  That is to say I know what I like, but to actually design something myself is another story.  So I enlist the help of Michelle Schaad a graphic designer here in Denver.  She was FANTASTIC!  I can’t say enough good things about her.  She helped me think outside of the box and out of my rut.  She even let me play with the different ideas myself to satisfy my creative side.

The Logo is just the beginning of change.  I’m doing a website as well, which hopefully will go live in July.  Till that time I’d love to here your comments on the logo!

David & Margie Wedding

May 13, 2008

I had the opportunity to shoot with the fantastic Julie Harris again.   David and Margie’s wedding was set in the Flat Irons, just outside of Boulder at a private residence.  And it was beautiful.  A ceremony outside and reception following in a tent with all the trimmings.  Julie’s clients never cease to amaze me on not only gorgeous weddings, but their honest love for each other.  They’re always down to earth, kind and wonderful people to be around.

Congrats to David and Margie!

Trash the Dress

May 1, 2008

So I mentioned in the last post I did a ‘Trash the Dress’ with other photographers and models about two weekends ago. It was Fantastic! It so much fun hanging out with other photographers, and then models are always fun too! Personally I don’t really like the idea of ‘trashing’ your dress, but to go out and just take fun and more relaxed photos is a great idea. On your big there’s so many other things going on. Your mind really isn’t on doing ‘cool’ shoots with your photographer, your mind is on your new husband and guests! So if I can offer any advice to a couple getting married, DO AN UNBRIDAL SESSION! And what girl can turn down the opportunity to wear her dress again!
