1…2…3…JUMP!

October 25, 2007

So there is a reason I haven’t blogged in a long time.  My husband and I took an enormous plunge into buying our first house.  And it’s not just any house it’s a HUD house.  A.k.a  needs a lot of work.  And ours is no different.  In the last three weeks since we close October 5th.  We have taken down half the ceiling and walls, disassembled a huge octopus heater and managed to get the trash people pissed at us.  The house is only 2 miles from downtown Denver.  And we got a rocki’n deal on the house even with putting a small fortune into the house before we even move in.  But alas it’s our house.

I can now say I’ve demolished, wired, plumbed a whole house!  More photos to come. horizontal-title.jpg

Daniel & Brianna 09.23.07

October 22, 2007

We drove up to the private residence where Daniel and Brianna we’re going to be married and I was blown away.  This house was gorgeous! Every detail was was thought about in this Italian villa.  Daniel and Brianna had only too add simple orchids.  There have been a few brides that have made their wedding dresses and Brianna wanted nothing but the best.  She had hers made as well.  And it was by far the most unique dress I’ve seen.  Brianna and Daniel also did the most unique thing during their ceremony.  They washed each other feet.  That’s right, just like in the bible.  They are there to support each other in sickness and health, and to wash each other feet.  It was actually very touching and tender.  Weddings can be very cookie cutter after awhile, but when someone really puts thought into what the commitment is their entering it’s very emotional for them and the guest.  Kudos to all those that add uniqueness and heart to their ceremony.

Congrats Daniel and Brianna!19.jpg24.jpg34.jpg44.jpg53.jpg64.jpg72.jpg81.jpg91.jpg10.jpg

Bill and Alejandra 09.23.07

October 5, 2007

Details, details, details! Everywhere you look at The Brown Palace that’s what you see.  And Alejandra’s dressed was no different.  Her mother made her dress and it was absolutely stunning!  And Bill was so cute, he spent a half an hour telling me what detail photos he wanted of their room.  And their family had a riot at the reception, laughing so hard my sides were splitting!

Congrats Bill and Alejandra!18.jpg63.jpg23.jpg43.jpg52.jpg33.jpg71.jpg

Matt and Amy 09.15.07

October 5, 2007

The Cable Center is such an amazing place to have a wedding. It’s generally a conference center, but all decked out it looked in creditable! Matt and Amy are such a sweet couple. And Amy couldn’t stop smiling that day. She just grinned from ear to ear! They even had a choreograph wedding party dance, with feather boas’ and all!

Congrats you too! I hope Italy is treating you well.17.jpg22.jpg32.jpg42.jpg51.jpg62.jpg

And another year bites the dust…

October 2, 2007

Yesterday was my husband and I’s one year anniversary of our wedding, but it’s been 4 years since we started dating. It’s odd how when you get married suddenly the years that you spent together before marriage don’t really count anymore. Is your relationship not legitimate before your married? Are you merely just pleasant company until something better comes along, or marriage? Heavy loaded questions I know, but our ‘one’ year anniversary got me thinking.

I will admit that this last year has gone by wicked fast! It feels like just yesterday I was wearing my wedding dress and getting teary eyed to walk down the aisle. But alas, it was a year ago. We decided that since we are closing on our first house on Friday that a gift was out of the question. The house is our gift to each other. So we went for a hike in the mountains and ordered in Thai food for diner. All in all a very relaxing and wonderful day. Much less stressful the last year. 😉 Anyway I thought I’d share a few shots of the day.

Our self portrait of the day. 1.jpg

I’m not sure why but someone decided it was a good idea to bring a vintage car up to 10,000 feet.

I think I had a little to much fun playing with sun bursts. There weren’t to many aspen leaves left, so if your planning on getting to mountains you better hurry.

More F-stop workshop

October 1, 2007

Well I’ve finally sifted through all the f-stop workshop photo shoot.  Models, I think, make it way to easy.  I couldn’t choose which ones to post, so I’m posting quit a few.  I had so much fun shooting models too.  Who would have thought it would be fun.

I’m still slightly behind on blogging.  There are two more weddings and who can forget our new house.  So stay tuned for more to come!
